The
goal of your affiliate program is to make you money. Your
commissions are earned when a visitor clicks your link/banner,
comes to Brickel's Racing Collectibles, and makes a purchase.
Getting more clicks on your link/banner is important to you, and
requires some marketing on your part for a higher success rate.
So how do you do it?
There are several ways to improve
the likelihood of someone clicking your links and banners:
-
Make your link/banner prominent
Visitors spend the most time on the top of your page.
The top of your webpage is also the area people scan
upon entering your site. Typically, when a visitor
enters your page, they quickly scan through the content
until they settle onto a destination (ie., the search bar,
an article, etc.). If your link/banner is at the top,
it has a better chance of being seen.
-
If you're using text links, choose your words wisely
Words are your selling tools. If your link only
says Brickel's
Racing Collectibles, it's not doing much to generate
traffic. Perhaps something like this would work better
for your visitors:
Brickel's Racing Collectibles
- One of the largest online retailers of NASCAR merchandise.
Or, you can do something more contextual. You
can slip links into your articles or posts:
"...NASCAR driver
Dale Earnhardt Jr
is driving a new paint scheme on August 19th celebrating the
50th anniversary of the '57 Chevy,
along with other..."
This contextual technique is very common in blogs.
There are countless creative ways you can employ your
Affiliate links directly into your site's content.
Related keywords in your link text is not only
helpful to your visitors, but is also very important for
search engines. Search engines like links when they're
mentioning the things they're linking to. This helps
their algorithms determine relevancy. Having strong
text links may help your search rankings! Better
search rankings means more visitors.
-
If you're using banners, make them stand-out visually
We offer you
banners to use on your site, but if they do not match
your website's look and feel, you are welcomed to create
your own. Banners that perform well are clean and
direct - much like small magazine advertisements. It
is important to show your visitors that Brickel's has things
they can identify with.
In some cases, it may be a good idea to post specific
banners for different product types. For example,
perhaps put a DIECAST banner (that points to our
diecast section) on a page talking about the NASCAR stock
cars. Then, put a TRACK SCANNERS banner
(pointing to our group of track scanners) on a page talking
about the race tracks.
-
Our Highly Recommended Method - mix text and banners
Combining well-placed keyword text links and banners is
the best of both worlds. For example:

NASCAR Apparel,
NASCAR
Diecast,
NASCAR Novelties, and much more!
